3126 Cat Engine Life Expectancy. It has 216,000 miles, and was gone through and spec'd and gaskets and rings were replaced at 198,000. I know there are hundreds of factors that can affect the life expectancy.
I unfortunately am unfamiliar with the valve problems with these engines. I was given all of the service records. Did not have oil analysis.
Cat 3116 Marine Engine
I have a cat 3126 with about 210k on it. The cat 3208's and then the 3126's were medium truck engines. 3116 cat engine life expectancy. The 3116 displaces 1.1 liters per pot for a total displacement of 6.6 liters.
