How Does The Good Samaritan Relate To Life Today. People today who hear the word samaritan may think the word means a good person. A good samaritan is a person who does good deeds out of compassion and not because of any hope of reward.
Even if it is unpopular and flies in the face of what other “religious” leaders do and think, we’ve been given a picture of how to treat those who need our help, even if they are different than us. The good samaritan represents jesus, who paid every cost associated with healing the broken man. The samaritan’s intent didn’t save the wounded man from death.

The good samaritan didn’t walk away; The “priests & levites” that passed him by are the christians of today. Most of us help because we are expecting a reward of some sort. We help our friends because we assume that they’ll also help us when we are in need.
