Jesus Gave His Life For Us. That is, he dies for many. To me this emphasizes the fact that no one took his life.

I think it is very important that mankind understands this one fact; Satan cannot take our lives nor can hold up in the grave by his authority. Jesus gave us life by losing his own, showing the most incredible love possible, “greater loves has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends” (john 15.13).

He died so that we could live forevermore. No one overpowered jesus and killed him, not the romans and not the jewish nation. So what then is the way jesus rescues us? He reconciled us to god while we were enemies (romans 5:10).
